A family woman. A caring woman. And one of the first female cops in Oakland County. That's right, I'm writing about Jane Boudreau. She is my Michigan hero because of challenging the boys group to become a female police officer. I will start you in the beginning.
Her career started off as part time Marine Deputy and then became a full time correctional officer. Later she became the first female field training officer. To me that is a very honorable job. I've known Jane since I was in dippers, and my mom even longer. She is a very great mom and to have that job must have been very hard. A little while later she was very happy to become a DARE officer. She came to many schools to teach about drugs.
After her amazing time as the DARE president she was promoted to Sergeant. Yet again she made history; she was the first female Sub Station Commander in the history of the Patrol Services. Jane had a lot of other side jobs in the department, and still was the first female.
She is now running for Oakland County Sheriff. Jane is running against a man that has been Sheriff for a long time. If she wins this election, yet again she would be the first female. I am very proud of her for taking on the group of men to become the boss. She is a hard working cop and a hard working mom. Their family is very close to mine and we all wish her a win. That is why she is my Michigan Hero.
